Variety is the spice of life. Barossa is 2 regions in one zone.
- Barossa Valley, while roughly the same size as Eden Valley, produces approximately 80% of Barossa’s wine grapes. Barossa Valley is typically warmer, drier and has deeper soils than Eden Valley.
- Eden Valley, on the higher, eastern side of the zone. Eden Valley is the cooler climate region of the pair, which makes it ideal for growing Riesling and gentler styles of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Eden Valley also has an official subregion, High Eden.

Not all Barossa Shiraz is the same.
- Barossa Shiraz styles vary depending on the site and the personality of the winemaker, so you really are spoiled for choice! Typically, Barossa Valley Shiraz has flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum, black pepper and chocolate. Eden Valley Shiraz is typically filled with brighter, red fruits like raspberry and mulberry, with more savoury spice and a herbaceous edge. Riesling, drink it now… or later.
- Eden Valley Riesling is delicious as a zesty, young wine, it’s often the first style we see from each vintage (and the winemakers’ knockoff of choice.) It also rewards your patience with luscious complexity after cellaring. Some examples can age well for 20+ years.

Grenache – we’ve got it all!
- There’s no denying Grenache is hot right now. Barossa Grenache styles run the spectrum from bright & crunchy to old & gnarly (Cirillo Estate Wines are home to the world’s oldest Grenache vines) through to the darkest & moodiest styles.

Barossa Semillon is our best-kept (white wine) secret.
- Semillon was one of the first white grapes planted in Barossa Valley, where it thrives in the warmer climate. Barossa semillons reward with styles ranging from light, lean and zesty (think lemon zest and snow pea, perfect for seafood) to riper and complex examples (white fig, quince and toast, perfect for buttery roast chicken.)
