Great food and wine is best shared, this is the central philosophy at Lou Miranda Estate. Named for their father Lou Miranda, the three sisters, Lisa, Angela and Victoria run the boutique Barossa winery, cellar door, and restaurant with charming devotion to good old-fashioned Italian hospitality.

Tell us something about you (or your wine) that we don’t know.

All our wines are produced from our Estate owned vineyards, the 100 acres are on four sites located at a maximum of 8 kilometres from winery. We are privileged to be custodians of four centenarian old vine blocks in Southern Barossa Valley, the oldest dating back to 1897. Our dedication to vineyard management is carried through from barrel to bottle.

Give us one word that sums up Barossa.

You’re going to a friend’s place for dinner, what drinks do you take?

Lou Miranda Estate Sagrantino; this wine is an all out food wine, it will compliment most dishes. The wine is made light and spicy with bright blueberry and liquorice flavours.

You have been given a cloak of invisibility. Whose wine do you go and grab a bottle of at Barossa Be Consumed?

Massena Field Blend.

What’s your perfect night in (or your perfect night out)?

The measure of a great night out always ends with dirty bird and karaoke at LeSing.

What’s your food or wine guilty pleasure?

Marinating strawberries in Leone Tawny Rum Liqueur and serving with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nip for me, Nip for the strawberries.

Your Fave Road Trip Songs?

Chris Isaak, Baby did a bad bad thing.
Marilyn Manson, The beautiful people
Anything by Ricky Martin

What grape variety or wine style most interests you at the moment?

Chardonnay, it really is an exceptional grape variety.

What food is on the table?

It would be a feast of duck ragu, slow cooked lamb shoulder and orange almond meringue to finish, copious amounts of wine and cocktails.
