Shiraz Still A Crowd Favorite at the Barossa Wine Auction.
Australians’ appetite for Barossa wine continues to grow with record-breaking sales at the Langton’s x Barossa Wine Auction in Sydney, Thursday 22nd June.
The live auction and gala dinner held at Crown Sydney, saw 30 lots go under the hammer with a further 44 lots auctioned online. The event gave wine enthusiasts a unique opportunity to collect rare wines and vinous experiences from the likes of Penfolds, Henschke, Charles Melton, Rockford, Chris Ringland, and many more renowned Barossa producers.
The atmosphere in the auction room, under the careful watch of Master of Wine Ned Goodwin, was gripping and spirited with almost all lots exceeding their top price estimates.
Total sales for the event were $287,770.
Barossa Australia Chief Executive, Scott Hazeldine commented “An event of this nature would not be possible without the commitment and generosity of the region’s winemakers and our partners at Langton’s. To garner such results is a lovely reward for everybody’s hard work, once again demonstrating the continued collectability and interest in the wines of the Barossa and most importantly providing much-needed funds to be re-invested in the community. “
